Montway Auto Transport, a B2B logistics provider, announced the launch of a new digital platform, the Montway Automation Portal (MAP), with the goal of increasing efficiency for shippers and carriers.

According to Montway’s news announcement, the platform will also provide more visibility for inbound and outgoing cars to improve inventory management and assist in controlling and reducing transportation expenses.

MAP is based on proprietary technology that makes use of market-based pricing and a simplified transportation management system. Users may enter VINs to acquire pricing, book orders, and track units in real-time, according to the announcement.

The service will apparently provide a mechanism for users to obtain public monitoring links, which they may share with end users, as well as on-demand pricing and a single location to keep digital records.

“The challenges for dealerships, auctions, rental car companies, and other businesses that rely on vehicle movements continue to increase, and our business clients demand innovations to help them achieve a competitive edge,” Mike Trudeau, executive vice president of business development, said. “The Montway Automation Portal gives them the transparency they need to effectively manage stocks and deliver faster service to customers.”

All of this comes while the transportation and logistics business as a whole has lagged behind in terms of digital trends that have helped other industries modernize.
