Corporate payment company FLEETCOR announced that it would acquire Roomex, a provider of employee housing in Europe. The company will be able to build its hotel division and go global thanks to this move.

600 people work for Roomex, and they have stayed in hotels for 50,000 nights. Dublin, Ireland is home to the company’s corporate headquarters.

Reservations can be made for visitors at 45,000 hotels, the majority of which are found in the United States, by FLEETCOR’s lodging division. Customers gain from this division’s discounts, particular controls, and streamlined invoicing.

Roomex “provides us a very comparable workforce housing business in Europe,” claims Ron Clarke, chairman and CEO of FLEETCOR Technologies, Inc.

Levarti, an airline software provider that offers services for automating passenger interruptions like passenger warnings, aircraft rebookings, hotel accommodations, transfers, and vouchers, was recently acquired by FLEETCOR.

International airlines looking to automate their operations embraced the MAX software suite, introduced by Levarti in 2014. Through the use of the program, passengers may check in, make contactless payments while in flight, and claim their bags all digitally.

According to a statement made at the time by Clarke, the acquisition will offer a “complementary solution to further automate and expedite passenger interruption scenarios for our airline clients.”

As for other hotel technology news, Paysafe, a specialized payment platform, and cloud-based software partner HotelKey have teamed up to offer seamless hotel payments for both front-of-house and back-of-house duties.

The arrangement aims to simplify in-person, card-present and card-not-present transactions for all hotel channels, including the front desk, bars, restaurants, gift shops, and on-site events and catering. Additionally, it would make it easier for hotels to pay for essentials like food and drink orders and cleaning materials.
