Jumbotail Becomes Unicorn with ₹1,000 Cr Boost in B2B Market

India’s B2B marketplace space just welcomed a new unicorn. Bengaluru-based Jumbotail, a tech-driven wholesale platform for retailers and MSMEs, has raised $120 million (₹1,000 crore) in a fresh funding round, propelling its valuation beyond $1 billion, according to media reports.

The round was led by SC Ventures, the investment arm of Standard Chartered, with existing backer Artal Asia also participating. While Jumbotail hasn’t officially disclosed its valuation, industry insiders confirm that this funding round cements its unicorn status.

Jumbotail, a leading B2B ecommerce and fintech platform, has acquired Solv, a rival platform, with SC Ventures as an early investor. The acquisition, approved by India’s Competition Commission in May, strengthens Jumbotail’s position in the growing market.

B2B Expansion Through Fintech

The integration of Solv extends Jumbotail’s services beyond wholesale into credit and embedded financial solutions, targeting India’s vast population of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). According to Jumbotail’s COO Ashish Jhina, the platform now enables thousands of brands and MSME sellers to reach over 500,000 small retailers across 400+ cities and towns.

Jhina and Solv are fostering inclusive growth in India’s retail and financial ecosystem through a transformative moment.

SC Ventures on Financial Inclusion

Alex Manson, CEO of SC Ventures, emphasized that their investment supports financial inclusion in India.

The partnership aims to empower MSME entrepreneurs, who are the backbone of India’s economy, through tech-driven commerce and credit.

With this move, Gautam Jain, Chairman of Solv India and an SC Ventures executive, joins Jumbotail’s board. He noted that the combined platform could play a pivotal role in India’s growing $6 trillion economy, with B2B ecommerce expected to account for 5% by 2030.

What’s Next for Jumbotail?

Founded in 2015, Jumbotail offers a full-stack solution with an online marketplace, supply chain infrastructure, and working capital credit. Now, as a unicorn, it plans to accelerate hiring across AI/ML, supply chain, category management, and decision sciences to further scale its B2B capabilities.

With this fresh capital and Solv integration, Jumbotail is poised to redefine India’s B2B marketplace landscape, empowering MSMEs and shaping the next wave of retail innovation.
